Compass Icon an Invaluable Navigational Tool |
As you may know by now, the Mainestreet HR Upgrade launched this past Tuesday, June 12, 2018 and the Employee Self-Service site is up and running with its updated navigation for the functions that have been familiar in the past. As you experience the MaineStreet HR Upgrade, please don't hesitate to utilize the search function available with a click on the compass icon on your tool bar top right. With this resource, it's possible to find your way to a variety of useful destinations. And, please remember also, it is possible to personalize your home page in the MaineStreet HR Upgrade. For more information on how to do that and the benefits that come with it, please visit the guide currently in place to assist you with this added feature. Please be advised also that even as employees begin to familiarize themselves with the MaineStreet HR Upgrade, a few issues remain to be resolved. Your I.T. and HR partners are aware of the need to address linking in ImageNow, Disability and Veteran Status updates, and Form W-2 consent and electronic delivery. | MaineStreet Human Resources Upgrade
Now That the Upgrade is Live |
As of 8 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, the MaineStreet Human Resources Upgrade is up and running and available for employees to utilize for a variety of familiar tasks.
In preparation for the launch of the upgrade, training materials including the HR Support web site have been made available to ensure the most positive experience and these will remain accessible indefinitely.
While MaineStreet HR users become more familiar with the updated navigation and function, there is the possibility that some issues may arise and for that a special Navigation Troubleshooting Guide has been created to assist employees.
These helpful tips are designed to meet the needs of each employee visiting MaineStreet. Please consult this handy guide for some quick answers to possible questions.

MaineStreet HR will not be available during the upgrade; this includes, Employee Self-Service, Payroll (Time Entry and Time Approval), and Benefits. Availability will resume on Tuesday, June 12, at 8:00 a.m.

MaineStreet Human Resources Upgrade
Important Information for All Employees |
Schedule of Events:
Prior to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 - Employees who run HR reports and processes should retrieve any archived reports in the MaineStreet HR Provess Monitor that will be needed. The system only stores reports up to ten days prior and when the upgrade process begins on Friday at 5:00 p.m., it will clear out the archives of unretrieved reports.
Starting Friday, June 8, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. - MaineStreet Human Resources will be unavailable during the upgrade process which will occur over the weekend and through the end of the day, Monday, June 11, 2018.
Important - Please note that the Payroll and Benefits teams will be unavailable Monday, June 11, as they prepare for the upgrade.
Tuesday, June 12, 2018 - MaineStreet Human Resources will be available for all employees.
- Employees should enter time for hours worked on Saturday and Sunday, June 9-10.
- Managers may begin approving time for timesheets submitted for the week beginning June 3, 2018.
- Note that time entered on June 12 will not be available for approval until June 13.
Employee Upgrade Checklist:
All employees should complete the following steps prior to Tuesday, June,12, 2018: - Complete UMS Academy:MaineStreet Human Resources Upgrade Training before June 12.
- Prior to logging into the upgraded HR System on Tuesday, June 12, clear your browser's cache!

With the MaineStreet Human Resources upgrade set for implementation on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, it's important to be comfortable in this often-visited environment. In the brief instructional video presentation, you'll learn how to navigate MaineStreet to the functions you have come to depend upon such as managing time reporting and approval, benefits designations, leave balances and much more.
Along with the video, you will find a link to HR Upgrade FAQs and a list of helpful shortcut keys. How do I prepare for the MaineStreet HR Upgrade on June 12?

| | | | Navigating Change in MaineStreet Human Resources |
By now, you've heard that a change is coming in the MaineStreet Human Resources experience for employees, supervisors, and managers. In just a matter of days, June 12 to be exact, your visit will look significantly different. Gone will be the breadcrumb navigation at the top of each page. Front and center will be what are called "tiles" that are much more intuitive and are a fast track to the functions you're familiar with. Here's a sneak peek at the new Employee Self Service page:
As is often the case when charting a course through new and unfamiliar surroundings, a compass can be very handy and you will have one to help guide you on the new MaineStreet Human Resources toolbar.
Clicking on the compass icon will open a navigation bar where you will find links to the functions you depend upon in MaineStreet (Time Reporting, Personal Information, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, etc....).
Here's a sneak peek at the new toolbar:
Keeping it simple is a goal of the upgrade and with the compass feature, it's rendered as simple as possible for you to access the most common or frequent functions. What's next? The MaineStreet Human Resources system will soon be upgraded from version 9.1 to 9.2. MaineStreet HR will be unavailable during the upgrade which will begin at 5pm on Friday, June 8, and will be completed by start of business on Tuesday, June 12. This upgrade will allow us to be current with the latest improvements in technology behind MaineStreet Human Resources. Once the system is upgraded, we will continue to build upon it to provide a more contemporary approach to the management of employee information. A team of IT and HR colleagues has been working for several months to make certain this transition is as smooth as possible for all University employees.
What's the Timeline? The upgrade will begin on Friday, June 8, at 5:00 p.m. when the Human Resources system will be taken offline. The system will remain offline until the start of business on Tuesday, June 12, when the upgraded version will be available to all employees. What's Next? This won't be the last communication about the HR Upgrade. As we move forward with this transition, additional communications will feature tips on how to take optimum advantage of the new system.
